ADRIAN — The Adrian Women’s Garden Club awarded its first Garden of the Month designation for 2020, earlier this month.
The Lincoln Avenue home of Tom and Kathy Pryor was awarded as the Garden of the Month for the month of May, as noted by the garden club’s representative Sandra Hoover. The Pryor’s designation as the May Garden of Month winners was due to “their love of flowers,” according to Hoover.
“Their love of flowers are surely showing with the creeping phlox, flowering dogwood tree and their hosta bed blooming,” she said.
The Adrian Women’s Garden Club selects homes around the Adrian community — and beyond — each year between the months of May and September, and awards them as the Garden of the Month. Those that are selected for the award, are given a sign, which is to be placed in the front lawn of the home, announcing that house as the Garden of the Month. The sign and the designation remain in place for the entirety of the month.
A new Garden of the Month winner will be selected in June, Hoover said.
Those that would like to have their home garden selected or nominated for the Garden of the Month designation, are encouraged to contact Hoover by calling 517-265-7069.
