The Monroe County Health Department and State of Michigan provided their latest case numbers on the pandemic this afternoon.

There were 12 new cases of coronavirus reported in Monroe County Friday, bringing the total to 383.

There also was an additional death attributed to COVID-19 Friday, bringing the total to 16. This is for 10 males, six females; ranging in age from 46 to 97.

Those reports were was among the data issued Friday when the Monroe County Health Department and State of Michigan provided their latest reports on the pandemic.

The first case in Monroe County was reported March 14. The first one in the state was reported March 10.

The state updates Friday show that there are 46,326 cases to date, with the City of Detroit along with Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties the hardest-hit areas. There have also been 4,393 deaths in Michigan attributed to COVID-19.

Friday's breakdown of cases per ZIP code in Monroe County, compared to the day prior, is as follows:

48162 (Monroe north): 93 cases, an increase of 5. 48161 (Monroe south): 60 cases, an increase of 1. 48166 (Newport): 51 cases. 48182 (Temperance): 44 cases. 48117 (Carleton): 37, an increase of 2. 48144 (Lambertville): 22, an increase of 2. 48160 (Milan): 15 cases. 48131 (Dundee): 14 cases. 48159 (Maybee): 10 cases, an increase of 1. 48145 (LaSalle): 7 cases. 49267 (Ottawa Lake): 7 cases. 49270 (Petersburg): 6 cases, an increase of 1. 48133 (Erie): 5 cases. 48179 (South Rockwood): 4 cases. 48140 (Ida): 3 cases, increase of 1. 49238 (Deerfield): 1 case. 48157 (Luna Pier): 1 case.

In addition, the updated age brackets for the Monroe County cases, compared to the day prior, are as follows:

Age 19 and younger: 11 cases. Age 20-29: 43 cases, an increase of 2. Age 30-39: 56 cases, an increase of 3. Age 40-49: 73 cases, an increase of 1. Age 50-59: 89 cases, an increase of 1. Age 60-69: 56 cases, an increase of 3. Age 70 and older: 55 cases, increase of 2.

The "recovery" data is provided about once a week by the state and county; Friday's reports did not include those charts.
