HOLLAND TWP. — One woman was hospitalized following a rollover crash Tuesday morning in Holland Township.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an injury crash at 8:36 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, on the I-196 business loop just west of 112th Avenue.
Upon investigation, police determined the at-fault driver, a 72-year-old man from Zeeland, was driving a GMC pickup truck towing a fifth-wheel camper westbound on the I-196 business loop. The pickup truck was in the right lane, then the driver made a lane change into the left lane.
The driver did not see a Jeep already in the left lane and struck the Jeep.
The Jeep, driven by a 55-year-old woman from Grand Haven, rolled over into the ditch and the Grand Haven woman was pinned in the vehicle. The Holland Township Fire Department extricated the woman from the Jeep. She suffered minor injuries and was taken to Holland Hospital by AMR Ambulance.
The GMC pickup truck driver was cited for "due care and caution." Neither he nor his 71-year-old female passenger, also of Zeeland, were injured in the crash.
