Under Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s executive order, construction work in the state of Michigan, under specific guidelines, may resume May 7.

Building permit applications submitted prior to or during the stay-home order will be processed and city staff will contact residents as necessary. In addition, inspection of all construction projects that could not proceed under previous executive orders may resume.

n Call the community development department, 269-659-7230.

n Email the community development department, comdev@sturgismi.gov.

To schedule inspections for in-process or completed construction projects or for assistance during the building permit application process, residents, builders or developers should contact the community development department by email or phone.
