Mobile food pantry, a Census 2020 blitz and a sports lending equipment launch are taking place.
Monroe County Opportunity Program is celebrating Community Action Month, which is May, with some special activities today.
The following campaign kickoff activities will take place at the Opportunity Center at ALCC, 120 Eastchester St., starting at 10 a.m. The agency staff and volunteers will observe social distancing measures and Centers for Disease Control guidelines.
• Mobile Food Pantry sponsored by Monroe County Library System. Early arrival is recommended; this is a first-come, first-served distribution.
• Census 2020 Blitz, materials and information encouraging participation in the U.S. Census, which is in progress.
• Sports lending equipment program launch, in partnership with Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan.
The annual breakfast, which would normally be part of MCOP’s Community Action Month events, has been postponed.
