CHEBOYGAN COUNTY — Although different numbers are reported between the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and District Health Department Number Four, the number of cases of coronavirus in Cheboygan County is still under 20.
The information from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, as of April 29, show there are 17 cases in Cheboygan County. District Heath Department Number Four is reporting there are 19 cases in the county.
"The state's cut off for results is 10 a.m., ours is 2 p.m., so any results that come in after 10 and before 2, we report," said Cathy Goike, certified health education specialist with District Health Department Number Four.
Due to the different cut off times for the reporting of the cases of the virus in areas, that is what causes the discrepancy between the different entities releasing information.
Formal updates from District Health Department Four are released on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but information is updated by the entity on their website and Facebook page each day.
