The Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven will host its fifth annual Boat Walk noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18. The Boat Walk allows guests to explore privately owned vessels of different types and styles inside and out.
“This is such a unique opportunity for visitors to visit beautiful boats in the South Haven harbor,” said Patti Montgomery Reinert, the museum’s executive director. “We’re so grateful to the boat owners and all of our guests who help make this a successful fundraiser, now in its fifth year.”
Your ticket gets you aboard all participating vessels to meet the owners/captains, ask questions and just enjoy each of the participating boats in South Haven’s Maritime District.
Participants will check in at the museum for a program and map and may visit participating boats at their leisure during the four-hour walk. Once finished, guests can walk back to the museum to explore museum exhibits and a variety of their vessels, many of which offer on-water experiences with an educational twist.
Tickets to the walk include 8-10 boats and museum admission. Cost is $15 per person (ages 14 and older) and may be purchased at the event or in advance at the museum’s Ship’s Store, through the museum website, at the South Haven Visitor’s Bureau and the South Haven Chamber of Commerce.
